DIYEL #16 Be a craftsperson, an artisan.

Sadly, many of us have lost the art of a being a craftsperson. In olden days, many people used their hands to carve wood, draw, stencil patterns, practice calligraphy, and knit clothing. Today’s fast-paced population doesn’t make things. We rely on quick fixes from Home Depot and Wal-Mart.

Do-It-Yourselfers are craftspeople – artisans and specialists. They feel texture, see colors, smell fragrances and can assemble raw materials into a work of beauty. In eLearning, Do-It-Yourselfers have to use software to execute their goals. However, quality products do not come out of software. They are produced by the creativity of the designer and developer.

Strengthen your skills in writing, image visualization, conversations, storytelling and other crafts. Then you will create beautiful and engaging eLearning, using software as your medium.
